UKCN: The After Carnival Boat Party Review – 6th Oct
UKCN continue to cruise and deliver the show and last night was no exception. It was a fetters paradise with new and old faces attending and had the makings of another epic event.
Whilst proceedings started late, partly due to the traffic diversion that was in Central London, this did not dampen the mood of those that had been anticipately waiting for the boat to depart on time. Upon boarding the boat, it was apparent that this was no party where people came and stood by to watch each other or become part of the wallpaper. As soon as the boat pulled away from the pier, it was as if upon trance, revellers were commanded to adopt the ‘brace and wine’ stance, not due to the rocking of the boat, but purely from the pressure to withstand the vibes.
It is always nice to see people come out and enjoy themselves and not be bothered by anyone and this seems to be the working formula in UKCN parties. The food was on point, freshly and well cooked, with chicken, fish, colesaw, rice, potato salad and a drink on the ‘side’ to wash it all down.

The Music: Well DJ Ttate albeit tired from the jet setting lifestyle, did not fail to deliver to the crowd. Bringing his Berlin and award winning skills to the deck he provided hit after hit of music. New kid on the block Danny D, in between dance takes did not fail to show what he has cooking under his belt and the skills he has acquired. The main man Mike Forbes himself, well lets say he kept us on our toes and provided some sweet tunes to keep us going. Least not forgetting Soca Mafia who brought oh gosh to the boat party and in true mafia style were the hitmakers of the night. All in all the music was on point with a varied selection of old and new and not just soca but some reggae thrown in as well.
The Crowd: As mentioned the crowd did not dissapoint. This was a crowd that had come out with one intention only and that was to fete. No holds barred they gave it their all and were on good and bad manners thrown in together. They represented on the styles front and whilst some tottering on skyscrapers this was not stopping them having a great time. Crowd at UKCN last night was tops!!!!
The Vibe: ‘I ready for it’. Well as mentioned in between the lines, the vibes were real nice. This had been a boat party long time in waiting and on cue the crowd, hosts, security and boat captain and stewards were welcoming and friendly and knew that it was their responsibility to add to the flavour of things. The vibes were on point!!!
All-in-all: A***** that should tell you everything. For an affordable amount you got your 12 month’s supply of music from respectable DJs, you got your belly filled with delicious food, you got your money’s worth on the drinks front, no flat coke and the crowd albeit not knowing each other was liming with each other and enjoying themselves. What can I say the party nice. The next UKCN Thank You Party will be in 2013, so people purchase your tickets as soon as they go on sale, for this will be another event not to be missed.
