Socaholic proudly presents the ultimate mix for the 2014 Carnival season – Socaholic Carnival Mix 2014

Trinidad & Tobago Carnival can be regarded as the opening fixture on the Carnival calendar, an event that sets in motion a succession of Caribbean Carnivals around the world throughout the year. Soca is the soundtrack to Carnival and this mix pulls together many of the songs that were on heavy rotation in the fetes and on the road in Trinidad this year.

DJ Chris Vee of the renowned Firin’ Squad is back on deck duties for #SCM2014. He mixes and blends, chops and drops forty-eight bangers in a row to recreate an entire Carnival experience distilled into ninety minutes #minicarnival.

If you found yourself in Trinidad for Carnival then these songs will evoke some great memories and either alleviate or aggravate an affliction commonly known as a Carnival Tabanca. However even if you were not there, there is a very good chance that you will hear some of these songs booming from a big bad stink truck at a Carnival near you.

Trinidad Carnival is often referred to as ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’ but it’s more than that, it is one big party that everyone is invited to. And like Carnival in Trinidad, Notting Hill Carnival is not just a spectacle – it is a shared experience and one that you can participate in.

Notting Hill Carnival takes place in London over the Sunday and Monday of the Summer Bank Holiday weekend in August and it is billed as the second largest street festival in world after Rio Carnival in Brazil, with an estimated 1.5 million visitors attending over the two days. This year, the party promises to be even bigger and better than even before as Notting Hill Carnival celebrates its 50th year.

We here at Socaholic are delighted to have teamed up with Funatik Mas Band for our debut at Notting Hill Carnival in 2014

Come join us on August 25th and get ready to have the time of your life. For more info, head over to www.socaholic.com
