Is it too soon to count the nominees and anticipate the winners? Well judging from the nominees presented at the 11^th Annual International Soca Awards this could well be the case.

Alongside well-known and esteemed soca artists, the UK scene is pleased to announce and see the number of UK artists who have been nominated alongside artists such as Alison Hinds, Destra, 3Canal, Patrice Roberts and Nadia Batson to name a few.

The UK Soca scene has certainly come a long way and has been steadily making waves on the international scene and it is apt that the hard work put in by all has started to pay off. With 2013, slated to be the year that will cement UK Soca on the international spotlight, we here at UKSS are pleased and happy to be seeing the UK finally making its headway. Best UK Group, Muzik lil Muzik have been nominated alongside 3 Canal for Soca Duo or Group of the Year for the 2^nd year running. ‘Ready fa dis’ UK Soca Female Artist Ms Desire has been nominated alongside soca female giants for Groovy Soca- Female of the Year and Best New Female Soca Artiste of the Year has been given to Natia Daniels. Humbled by the experience, this has been welcoming news not to only the artists nominated but to the scene as a whole.

A well-deserved and big congratulations goes out to all the nominees, most particularly UK artists!

The Annual International Soca Awards was founded in 2003 by a Trinidad & Tobago native, Mr Colin ‘CJ’ Jackman. Welcoming all soca entertainers from around the world and with an emphasis on bringing recognition to the Soca and Calypso genre, the Soca Awards Organisation has worked hard to showcase the award ceremony- the International Soca Awards (iSA). This year the award ceremony will be held on the Isle of Spice, Grenada on the 6^th of August 2013.
