Red Eye Review – 8th April 2012

This was one eventful Easter Sunday Fete by Release De Riddim.

People were jumping up high, wining down low and dropping on the ground and rolling. Needless to say the Red Eye vibes were through the roof.

The Venue – CC2 (Colosseum Complex) by Vauxhall Bridge is an ideal venue for soca fetes. The only thing I don’t like is the ‘half-hearted’ smoke machine they have. The little piece of smoke it gives out does nothing for the vibe in the place.

The CC2 Club is a good size with various rooms for when one room is going beyond capacity (which Red Eye did).

The Music – The line up of DJs consisted of some of the best UK Soca DJs around. This ensured that the way the music was played was at the highest standards all night. With Vinny Ranks and Martin Jay hosting the crowd were sent into a frenzy with practically every song that was played.

The Crowd – The fetters came out in their numbers. Taking full advantage of not having to go to work the next day the crowd came prepared to ‘get-on-BAD’. At some points of the night the crowd was parted and people dropped to the ground and rolled (to Fay-ann Lyons song Misbehave).

The next Red Eye will be on 6th May. You will be able to get your online tickets here very soon.

Release De Riddim have created a monster with Red Eye. I can see these events becoming the bank holiday events to attend.
