To the unknowing it would seem that there is an all out war for YOUR fetting time.

YOU the loyal lovers and followers of the soca scene in the UK are about to see a day where there are 4 big, quality soca events happening on the same night in London.

Should Be Renamed Soca Day.

This is what I know is happening so far on this day:

• Move – Carnival Fever, Berlin Carnival UK band launch
• UCOM Band Launch
• Trini Posse UK Band Launch
• Genesis Band Launch

Now, I know these promoters / mas band owners haven’t maliciously put their event on the same day as the other promoters / mas band owners to ‘steal’ their crowd or ‘crash’ their fete. I know it was purely coincidental that this has happened. The real question is why has this happened?

All fetes on this night won’t reach their full potential because of this clash.

The soca community as a whole will suffer because of this clash.

As big and as dedicated and strong that we the soca community are, we are not big enough to fruitfully support 4 big soca events in one night.

This clash, currently only hurts the growth of the soca scene.

So Whats The Solution?

It’s obvious that communication amongst the movers and shakers of the UK soca scene isn’t as er…strong as it could be.

It would seem they don’t check-in and discuss their plans with each other and maybe, they don’t need to.

>> Maybe they only need to share their basic plan and event dates with one person / team.

>> This person / team can relay this basic information as soon as it crops up with the rest of soca community as a whole. This will give all soca lovers clear sight of what is in the UK soca pipeline.

>> This should reduce event date clashes and enable the fetters to fully support each event.

>> This, in-turn will help to grow the soca scene. Smiles all round.

We (uksocascene.com) are well placed and more than happy to be the team to take on-board this information and share it with the UK soca community.

We know that the UK soca scene has the potential to be much, much bigger than it is.
We know that YOU want that to happen. So, lets make it happen.

Just in case you think this is a one off. On Sunday the 6th May there are 3 big fetes on the same night!
